Shiner Law Group, P.A.
This firm pays for this site, so this page is held to the same standard as the legal pages. Everything below was checked on August 14, 2026 against a primary source wherever one could be reached — and where one could not, the gap is listed at the bottom instead of being quietly left out.

Nothing on this page is a promise about your case. Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Contacting the firm does not create an attorney–client relationship — that starts only when a written agreement is signed.

Attorneys
Where a row below shows an admission date, that row was read directly from The Florida Bar's public member directory on August 14, 2026, and the member showed as in good standing and eligible to practice law in Florida. The two rows marked not verified here carry the Bar number the firm itself publishes; the directory stopped returning records partway through our checks, so we did not confirm them. Either way it is a check anyone can repeat — search the number at floridabar.org.

David I. Shiner is also admitted in Georgia and Washington. Several of the attorneys are admitted to federal district courts in Florida. Mr. Shiner is listed as a director of the Florida Justice Association for the 2026–2028 term, per that association's own leadership page. He has also served on a Florida Bar grievance committee in the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit — the committees that review complaints against lawyers — though he is not listed as a current chair on the Bar's committee rosters, so no current role is claimed here.
Law schools are as published by the firm; The Florida Bar's directory does not list a law school for every member. Sean Pleus and Melissa D. Dwyer are published as speaking Spanish; Vivien Smatko as speaking Hungarian.

Recognitions, precisely attributed
Ratings and lists mean different things depending on who runs them, so each one below names the organization and the year it applies to. None of them predicts anything about a case.

What is deliberately not on this page
No superlatives. No success rate. No total-recovered figure. No client testimonials. No board-certification claim — board certification is a specific Florida Bar credential, and every Bar record we retrieved for this firm's attorneys showed none.
About the fee, in plain words
A contingency fee means the lawyer's fee is a percentage of any recovery. It is not the same as “free,” because case costs — filing fees, medical records, expert witnesses, depositions — are a separate question from the fee.
Florida requires a contingency fee agreement to be in writing and signed. Ask this firm, or any firm, for that agreement before you sign, and read two things in it: the percentage, and whether you would owe case costs if there is no recovery. This page does not state either figure, because those are the firm's terms to give you in writing, not ours to summarise.
How to reach the firm
Call the Boca Raton office at (561) 777-7700, or use the firm's own contact page: shinerlawgroup.com contact form.
This site collects no contact information and passes nothing to the firm. There is no form here on purpose — you contact them directly, on their own site, where their privacy terms apply.
What we could not verify
Listed openly, because a page that only shows what it managed to confirm is not a page you can trust:
- The year the firm was founded. The firm publishes no founding year. Third-party listings disagree with each other and with the state registration record, so no year is stated here.
- A Melbourne office. One page of the firm's site lists a Melbourne street address and the Better Business Bureau carries a separate record for the firm at that same Melbourne address — but the Melbourne practice page publishes only a phone number, and Melbourne is not among the offices listed on the homepage or contact page. Left off the table until the firm confirms it.
- The Port St. Lucie suite number. Three pages of the firm's site say Suite 200 #39 and one says Ste 300 #23. The majority version is used above.
- Two Florida Bar records. The directory stopped returning results after several lookups, so the admission dates for Melissa D. Dwyer and Lynda S. Brennan are marked not verified rather than repeated from the firm's own bios.
- Review counts and star ratings. The aggregator sites we could reach disagree with each other, so no rating or review count appears on this page.
- A Stuart office. Two pages of the firm's site publish a Stuart street address in Martin County, with two different phone numbers, but Stuart is not among the offices listed on the homepage or contact page. Left out of the table above until the firm confirms it.
- Other phone-only locations. Besides Fort Myers, the firm publishes local numbers with no street address for Melbourne, Boynton Beach, Lake Worth, and Vero Beach.
- Two recognitions published in the firm's own materials could not be confirmed at the awarding organization, so neither is listed above.
- Two Better Business Bureau records exist for this firm, for different offices and with different accreditation dates. BBB accreditation is a paid membership rather than an assessment of legal skill, so it is not listed above at all.
